We love organising garden party cinemas! They are always such intimate, relaxed and fun events and the perfect birthday party treat!
We were delighted to be asked by our client, Rebecca Willet, to organise a surprise garden party cinema for her daughter’s 7th birthday in September 2020. Here is what Rebecca had to say about our Mini Screen experience.
What made you choose our Mini Screen cinema package to celebrate your daughter’s birthday?
My daughter loves films and we usually go to the cinema a couple of times a month (as well as watching her favourite movies at home). We have been to a few Village Screen events before and always had a great time, so when it came to organising my daughter’s 7th birthday party, with the Covid restrictions in place at that time (Sept 2020), I thought it would be a great opportunity to bring the cinema to her and her friends in our garden.
We know it was a surprise, how did your daughter react and did she and her friends have a great time?
My daughter was so surprised and excited on the day. When it started to get dark outside and all your amazing lights were illuminating our garden, she and her friends were uncontainable. It was lovely to see their little faces light up especially after a hard few months, it was a real treat for them all.
Was it nice being able to celebrate in your garden?
It was great to celebrate in our garden, we had everything on hand which was helpful and it was local to most of my daughter’s friends. It was also amazing to see how you transformed our garden, we’ve since got some outdoor lighting as we loved it that much!
Would you recommend the Village Screen team, and the Mini Screen, to others?
Parties can sometimes be quite stressful and difficult to organise but the Village Screen were so accommodating and helpful from start to finish. They tailored an outdoor cinema package to work with our requirements and budget and created an amazing cinema experience for 20 kids, complete with deckchairs and pretty lighting. My daughter wanted to watch Trolls 2 as she hadn’t seen it before. The team sourced a copy and even gave it her to keep at the end of the evening. They managed the whole set up from start to finish so all we had to do was pass the popcorn around and watch the kids faces as they saw the garden light up and the movie come on. The whole experience was incredible, and lots of parents commented on how cool it would be for their little ones, or for a grown up party or celebration. That’s the great thing about the concept, it’s so versatile and I know first hand that the team will be able to realise whatever you are after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
