Peak Cavern FAQs

How do I contact customer services?

For any queries relating to the event or tickets, please contact hello@thevillagescreen.com or by phone on 07504 001745.

Will I receive a physical ticket(s)?

You will receive an online booking confirmation email with your tickets attached. Please bring your tickets with you to the event, either printed or on your phone.

What if I’m in a wheelchair?

The Peak Cavern cave is accessible for wheelchair users, however there are no disabled toilets at the venue. We will bring in a temporary disabled toilet for this event, but please note that this toilet will be located in the Peak Cavern car park just off Buxton Road (approx. 200m from the cave entrance).

The journey from the car park to the cave follows a steady incline, which is steep towards the entrance.

Please email us on hello@thevillagescreen.com if you would like further information and we will do our best to help.

Will I be allocated seating?

There will be enough seating for everyone attending the event. Seating is allocated first come, first served and whilst we will try our best to seat groups of friends/ family together, we cannot guarantee that this will always be possible.

Within the cave, seating will be on metal chairs in order to meet fire safety requirements and allow for ease of positioning on the uneven ground. These chairs can also be wiped and dried quickly if the cave is a little drippy. You are welcome to bring a cushion with you, we also have some available to hire.

Will there be food and drink?

There will be street food vendors set up in the car park area (approx. 200 meters from the cave), you will be able to purchase food when the doors open, up until just before the film starts. There will be a fully stocked bar before and during the event.  Please remember that you are unable to bring your own food and drink into the event. We will be operating Challenge 25 so please remember to bring photographic identification to buy alcohol if you look or are under 25.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

For events at The Peak Cavern guests are unable to bring their own food and drink into the event. Bags may be checked upon arrival.

Can I pay by cash and card?

This event is card only.

Is there a minimum age for this event?

Please check the age restriction for your chosen film by visiting Pop Up Cinema — The Village Screen. We may ask for photographic ID if you or anyone in your  group looks under the certified age for your chosen film. We reserve the right to refuse entry if you are unable to present valid proof of identity.

The certified age for our events may differ from the copies of films you own at home, please always check before booking.

All guests aged under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18+.

Is this event indoors?

Technically yes! The Peak Cavern is a vast cave entrance which provides shelter from the elements, but it is fully open at the front, providing fresh air flow and protection from the rain. Please keep in mind that the Peak Cavern is unheated so please dress up warm and bring blankets. Please also wear sensible shoes as the ground inside the cave is uneven. Although the cave is under shelter, it can get a little drippy inside, so please bring a waterproof with you.

What if I book a child or concession ticket?

We may ask for photographic ID for children if they look over 16, so please come prepared. If you have booked a student or senior ticket, you should also bring suitable identification with you. We reserve the right to refuse entry if you are unable to present valid proof of identity.

Can I bring a dog/ pet with me?

We absolutely love dogs but unfortunately, we are unable to allow dogs or any other animals into the event. There will be plenty of animals already watching from within the cave.

Will there be parking?

There will be some payable parking available in the Peak Cavern car park, although this is not guaranteed for our customers. There is also some free on-street parking available on Buxton Road and other local car parks in Castleton. Be mindful that car parks can be very busy with local visitors, particularly during school holidays. We recommend using local transport and taxis where possible.

What should I wear?

The Peak Cavern is unheated and can get quite cold (especially in October), so please come prepared with warm clothes and sensible shoes (as the ground is uneven). Although the cave is under shelter, it can get a little bit drippy inside, so please bring a waterproof with you.

What should I bring?

Bring your tickets with you, either printed or on your phone/ device. If you have booked a student or senior ticket, you should also bring suitable identification with you. Please also dress appropriately (see "what should I wear?" above)

Can I smoke at the venue?

No, smoking is prohibited inside the cave. You will need to leave the event in order to smoke.

What if it’s raining?

The Peak Cavern does have a roof, however, it can become a little drippy inside if it has been raining heavily in the days leading up to the event. There is also a small river that flows through the lower section of the cave which can become noisy if it has been raining heavily. If this happens, our technicians will assess the situation and take reasonable measures to ensure that the sound quality is not significantly compromised.

I have a carer, can my carer attend the event with me?

We offer a 50% discount on carers tickets. Please email us at hello@thevillagescreen.com if you need your carer to attend the event with you and we will send you a discount code to use online.

What if I’m unable to attend the event?

Please note, we do not offer refunds or exchanges on ticket purchases.

Will there be toilet facilities?

Yes, there will be temporary toilet facilities provided at the event.

Can I talk during the screening?

We politely ask attendees not to talk during the screening and not to disturb other guests. We reserve the right to remove guests from the screening room who continually disturb others.

Will this film have subtitles?

This film will not be subtitled, however you can download the app 'Subtitles Viewer!' on the app store for free. This app enables you to download the film's subtitles onto your device, which you can use whilst watching the film.

Please get in touch with us on hello@thevillagescreen.com if you would like any further information about this.
